What is Baptism?
We are submerged in water to identify with the death of Jesus and rise out of the water to identify with His resurrection. Baptism testifies to our faith that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, rose three days later, and now is alive and Lord over all creation.
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4
What happens when Christians are baptized?
We fulfill Jesus’ command to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
We receive personal and community benefits through the public declaration of our faith. We “walk in the newness of life” together, teaching and learning, as disciples of Christ, what it means to live a gospel-centered life.
Who should be baptized?
If you have made a commitment to Jesus, we encourage you to follow His command to be baptized as a public profession of your faith in Him. Contact us today, indicate your desire to be baptized, and we will walk with you through this next step.
If you do not call yourself a Christian, we would love to answer questions you might have and help you explore what it could mean to trust Jesus.
